Personalisation
Blue Box Intranet can be personalised on a company and individual user basis. Administrators can manipulate home page imagery, footer text and titles and users can set up favourite areas to provide quick access around the intranet.
Changing the Intranet Home Page
The area at the top of the intranet home page immediately above the "What's New?" section can be edited by an administrator to include text and imagery. For example, a company logo, latest news, key feature or installation of javascript applets.
To add home page text:
- Click "Application" within the "Administration" area of the intranet.
- In the "Home Page HTML" field enter the text you wish to appear on the home page. This text can include javascript and HTML.
To add a home page image:
- Click "Application" within the "Administration" area of the intranet.
- Click "Browse" alongside the "Upload New" field.
- Locate the image to appear on the home page.
Adding Favourites
Each user can set up a number of favourites within the intranet. These then feature both on the home page and also on the top navigation drop down providing quick access to items from any location within the intranet.
To add a page to your favourites:
- Navigate to the page you wish to add as a favourite.
- Click "Add Favourite" in the main navigation.
To add a link to your favourites:
- Navigate to the workspace that contains the link you wish to add as a favourite.
- Click "Add to Favourites" alongside the corresponding link.
To add a file to your favourites:
- Navigate to the workspace that contains the file you wish to add as a favourite.
- Click "Add to Favourites" alongside the corresponding file.
To remove an item from your favourites:
- In the "My Favourite Places" on the intranet home page, click "Delete" alongside the corresponding favourite you wish to move.
Changing Organisation Types
Initially Blue Box Intranet is set up with a default list of organisation types. These are used within contact lists to determine the type of organisation. The default entries are:
- Competitor
- Consultant
- Customer
- Other
- Partner
- Sales Lead
- Supplier
To add an organisation type:
- Click "Organisation Types" within the "Administration" area of the intranet.
- Click the "New Organisation Type" icon.
To delete an organisation type:
- Click "Organisation Types" within the "Administration" area of the intranet.
- Select the organisation type you wish to delete.
- Click the "Delete" icon; note that you cannot delete an organisation type if it has organisations associated with it.
